About

The PostContemporary is a non-profit art organization originally founded in the culturally rich Berkshires of Massachusetts as the Contemporary Artists Center in 1990. In 2009, after purchasing the Woodside Church & Chapel in Troy, we moved across the border to New York state.

The PostContemporary supports artists thinking and/or working beyond the confines of the established art world, enabling them to influence the development of future concepts, systems, and communities.

Through its…

  • Artists’ residencies
  • Art studios
  • Workshops
  • Lectures
  • Exhibitions
  • Performances

…the PostContemporary promotes the creation & appreciation of contemporary art.

We seek artists who want to produce, explore, test new concepts and expand the current debates and ideas in todays art and culture.
