Artist BRIAN KANE has spent over 20 years creating works in emergent media, from holography to lasers and robotics.  His new series of physically manifested web icons looks at our increasing need (and ability) to be two places at once.  We now dwell in multiple spaces: real, material, virtual and dream.  In the animal world, cuteness is seen as a sustainable mechanism – it prevents parents from eating their young.  The wild success of certain internet icons also stems from a kind of ‘graphic huggability’, as Kane’s works demonstrates.  People love taking photos near his oversized Free WiFi.
